HDRC advocates for and ensures protection of the rights and liberties of all individuals living with disabilities. These freedoms include:

  • Freedom from Abuse and Neglect
    People with disabilities are not subject to involuntary sterilization.
  • Accessible Communities
    Individuals with disabilities have the right to privacy and to freely associate with others.
  • Independence, Productivity, Integration and Inclusion
    People with disabilities enjoy freedom of movement and choice of activities.
  • Self Determination
    People with disabilities can form relationships, marry, and have, nurture and raise their children.
