Emergency Preparedness

To help you prepare for an unexpected crisis or public health emergency, HDRC can provide step-by-step actions to protect yourself and your loved ones beforehand.

Natural disasters and other emergencies can be exceptionally challenging for people with disabilities. We help individuals with disabilities through training, a preparedness packet, and a checklist identifying vital information and supplies required in an emergency.

HDRC emergency preparedness training includes:

  • Storing personal information, like copies of IDs and essential information.
  • Preparing emergency supplies for home, work, car, or school.
  • Maintaining a list of household members with current emergency contacts.
  • Identifying the location of your evacuation shelter or meeting place.

For more information about emergency preparedness services or to schedule a group training, call us at (808) 949-2922 or email an advocate at [email protected].
