The PABSS (Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security) program provides people with disabilities the chance to work without losing their Social Security benefits. Watch the video below to learn how the program has helped Ian, a Safeway clerk, earn a steady income that gives him a sense of independence.
If you receive Social Security Disability Benefits (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income Benefits (SSI), this program can help you with the following services:
- Information and advice about obtaining vocational rehabilitation and employment services.
- Advocacy or other services that a disabled beneficiary may need to secure or regain employment.
Let us help you get back to work. Take the first step today.

This program can only serve beneficiaries of the Social Security Act who have disabilities.
To do this, the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration makes payments in each State to the protection and advocacy system established pursuant to part C of Title I of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (42 U.S.C. ยง15001).
