APPLY FOR ASSISTANCEProtection & Advocacy for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (PADD)
HDRC fights to ensure equality for Hawai‘i’s disabled population. We support and assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the PADD program, which was established to protect the legal and human rights of developmentally disabled people.
An intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) is a mental or physical impairment that begins before age 22, is likely to continue indefinitely, and limits an individual’s ability to be self-sufficient.
HDRC has the authority to pursue administrative, legal, and other remedies to protect and advocate for I/DD rights under all applicable laws and investigate incidents of abuse and neglect of people with I/DD.
To determine your eligibility for PADD or for more information, call us at (808) 949-2922 or email an advocate at [email protected].
